The culture at ZKS is different than any I’ve ever experienced and everyone that I have encountered greets you with a smile. It seems that each individual department works as part of a whole and not as an island. I am excited for my future here!

ZKS is my first, and only, legal employer. As you look around the office, the longevity of our employees is striking, and I think many of us stay here for the same reasons. We have created an environment that allows each of us to become both personally and professionally successful in a demanding industry. It is the obligation of those of us who are here now to maintain that legacy and pass it down to the future generations so that they may enjoy the same benefits and prosper in the way that we have.

When I got to ZKS, I was floored by the amount of mentorship I received. I have grown so much as an attorney in my time at ZKS. I hardly recognize the young associate who spent years languishing with no real guidance. While I am pushed to take on new things, I am never fighting the battle alone. I have fabulous bosses and mentors to look up to, who truly believe in me and value my work product. In addition to that, I feel like I have the support of the whole firm. A win in my department is a win for the firm, and it is something that never goes unnoticed.

When it was time to leave my prior job, I only wanted to work at ZKS. I knew several people who worked there, since I did plaintiff work and ZKS did defense - we had a lot of cases together. They all enjoyed working there and liked their bosses. The other large defense firm in town can’t say the same! The attorneys treat you like one of their own, not like ‘the girl’. All of our senior partners set the tone for the office - Ben Zimmerman, Wendell Kiser, and Jerry Sutcliffe are the best! Thank you for creating that firm.

I’ve stayed at ZKS my entire professional career because of the people. I value the healthy working relationships with supervisors and coworkers. ZKS is the type of firm where you can ask someone in a different department for help and they will stop what they are doing to make sure that the job gets done. The firm-wide social events really help develop a sense of community. I feel that my attorneys care for me as an individual and are always looking for opportunities to grow me personally and professionally. When I indicated my desire to transition into a paralegal role, they created opportunities for me to take on new responsibilities and be mentored by already established paralegals and attorneys.

I have never worked for a firm like ZKS; they truly go out of their way to make sure every employee feels appreciated and important, no matter what position they hold. Working for a company where they allow you to put family first and are very considerate of a work-life balance is a blessing. ZKS is truly a gem! I never want to leave!
