As an experienced commercial litigation and insurance defense attorney, Skip Kohlmyer has proudly represented high-profile clients across Florida and beyond. He’s a shareholder at ZKS and part of the firm’s leadership team.
With nearly 30 years in the legal profession, Skip leads a broad commercial practice, focusing on defending corporations and individuals in federal and state courts. His extensive experience in commercial litigation involves complex contract disputes, legal and regulatory compliance, and consumer protection matters. Skip is notably recognized for his work on cases involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), including serving as appellate counsel for two landmark TCPA decisions in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Skip is licensed in six states and represents clients in Florida, Georgia, New York, and the western states of Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. He provides comprehensive legal guidance on commercial disputes, real estate, land use, and international business law. His clients rely on him as a trusted advisor, valued for his ability to solve complex legal issues while supporting their long-term business goals.

Throughout his career, Skip has held numerous leadership positions within the legal community, including serving as President of the Florida Collectors Association and as a committee member with ACA International. His contributions to consumer protection and commercial litigation have left a lasting impact, advancing industry standards through high-profile appellate cases.
