Shareholder Ricki L. Whipple of Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe (ZKS) law firm recently spoke at an Affordable Care Act Workshop presented by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA). The half-day program was targeted toward hospitality industry management, offering tips and strategies to successfully comply with and manage the Affordable Care Act. Whipple, along with co-presenter Joe Mowery of Hylant Group, offered information on final regulations implementing the shared responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act, the impact of the Affordable Care Act on workers’ compensation costs for employers, and actions employers should take before and after a work accident.
In his law practice, Whipple represents the interests of employers, carriers, and servicing agents throughout the state of Florida, handling all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, and has significant experience in defending claims on behalf of employers in the hospitality industry. In addition, he serves as an Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) Guardian ad Litem, helping to provide legal services to those in need. He is also very involved with the OCBA’s law student mentoring program. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Best Buddies Central Florida, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
