Bio

Joseph Somake represents corporations and individuals in complex commercial litigation matters involving financial, contractual, and employment disputes. Since the start of his career, he has represented leading companies in industries such as real estate, lending, medicine, and environmental services.

Joseph has litigated matters at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation. He often represents his clients in litigation that carries significant financial and operational consequences. To best serve his clients, Joseph approaches litigation with an efficient and practical mindset, which combines thorough legal analysis, strong writing, and effective courtroom advocacy.

Before joining ZKS, Joseph practiced at boutique litigation firms in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, where he spent more than a decade exclusively handling commercial litigation matters. During that time, he gained substantial experience at all stages of litigation, including dispositive motions, trials and appeals. He now continues that work at ZKS alongside firm leadership, representing many of the same sophisticated clients.

Joseph’s interest in litigation began during law school, where he competed as a member of the Florida Moot Court Team and completed internships with the Alachua County State Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the SDFL.

These experiences shaped his commitment to courtroom advocacy and litigation strategy.

Outside of his legal work, Joseph enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis. He values the discipline and strategy of the sport and appreciates the balance it provides alongside a fast-paced litigation practice.
