Laura Kristin Sundberg, with over 35 years of experience in the field, has a diverse background in Trust and Estates matters. Her approach is characterized by a blend of practicality and personalization, making her a trusted advisor to beneficiaries and fiduciaries alike. Focused on dispute resolution, Laura excels in navigating intricate and contested estate and trust administration, as well as resolving complex fiduciary-related issues. Additionally, she possesses broad experience in tax planning, business matters, and personal estate planning, with a particular specialty in assisting non-United States citizens.
Laura’s journey in this field includes valuable experience as an Estate Tax Attorney at the Internal Revenue Service and her tenure at SunTrust Bank, where she served as Fiduciary Counsel and managed the Estate, Guardianship, and IRA Administration Departments.
She is a proud alumna of Vanderbilt University, holding a B.A. degree earned in 1984 and a J.D. degree obtained in 1987. In terms of leadership within the legal community, Laura has a distinguished record. She has served as the Chair of the Florida Bar CLE Committee in the past and currently holds positions as Vice-Chair of both the Professionalism and Ethics Committee and the Communications Committee. Her past leadership roles include Chair of the Attorney Trust Officer Liaison Conference, The Legislative Update, the Wills Trusts and Estates Certification Seminar, and leadership positions in multiple Conventions for the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. Laura is a longstanding member of its Executive Council, embodying her ongoing commitment to the legal profession.
She currently serves on the Board of Mackrell International. As a member of the International Committee, Laura collaborates with lawyers from across the globe to continue to strengthen the network and bring value to member’s clients. Mackrell International is an international referral network made up of over 90 firms.
